You score points across qualifications, language, experience, age, and ties to Germany. With 6 or more points, you are eligible to apply for the permit, which lets you live in Germany for up to one year to search for qualified employment. You may work up to 20 hours per week in trial positions during that time. Once you secure a job, your residence permit is upgraded to a full work visa.

The Chancenkarte is a German residence permit launched in June 2024 under the Skilled Immigration Act. It lets qualified non-EU professionals live in Germany for up to one year to search for qualified employment, without needing a prior job offer. You qualify either via 'full equivalency' (recognised degree or vocational training) or via a points-based track requiring 6+ points.
Two routes. Route 1: You hold a degree or vocational qualification that Germany recognises as equivalent — you go straight in. Route 2: You score 6+ points across criteria like German language (up to 3), professional experience (up to 3), qualification in a shortage occupation (1), age under 35 (2), and prior stay in Germany (1).
Six points is the legal minimum to apply. In practice, applicants with 8–12 points have meaningfully higher approval rates. The quiz models this realistically — we tell you both your raw score and an honest verdict.
Not strictly. An A1 certificate is the formal minimum. However, B1 is what makes you employable in most shortage occupations outside of pure IT roles. We recommend reaching at least A2 before applying.
A Sperrkonto is a special bank account where you deposit your living-cost proof. As of 2026 the required sum is approximately €11,904 (€992/month × 12 months). URM Enroll partners with two regulated providers so you can open one without travelling to Germany.
From signed engagement to visa decision, typical timelines are 4–9 months. Credential recognition (Anabin/ZAB) is the slowest step at 4–10 weeks. Embassy appointments in Beirut currently book 6–10 weeks out.
Yes — up to 20 hours per week in trial positions, plus full-time work as part of an interview / job trial. Once you sign a qualified full-time contract, you switch to a regular work permit and the cap disappears.
Spouses and minor children can join under family reunification, but generally only after you transition from the Chancenkarte to a full work permit. We plan the family timeline from day one of engagement.
Initially up to one year. If you find qualified employment in that period, you transition to a regular work permit. If you do not secure a job within 12 months and cannot extend, you must leave Germany — which is why our placement desk is integrated, not optional.
We help you apply for the Aufenthaltserlaubnis zur Erwerbstätigkeit — the regular work residence permit. After 33 months (or 21 with B1 German), you become eligible for permanent settlement.
Yes. Document apostille goes through the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and visa appointments run via VFS Beirut for the German Embassy. We have run the playbook end-to-end and know every checkpoint — including the local nuances around payslip translations.
We are not lawyers and do not pretend to be. We are a relocation operations team: eligibility scoring, document audit, Anabin handling, Sperrkonto setup, embassy package preparation, interview coaching, arrival concierge, and curated employer introductions in shortage occupations.
Salaries vary by profession and experience. Healthcare professionals earn €3,200–€5,500/month gross; software engineers €4,500–€8,000+; engineers €4,000–€6,500; skilled trades €3,000–€5,000. Entry-level positions typically start 15–20% below mid-level rates. Germany offers strong worker protections, mandatory pension contributions, and holiday entitlements — total compensation often exceeds the raw salary figure.
Monthly expenses range €800–€1,500 depending on city and lifestyle. Berlin and Cologne are affordable (€900–€1,200); Munich is pricier (€1,200–€1,800). Rent is typically 35–45% of your budget. Public transport is affordable, healthcare is subsidised, and university is free — so your savings rate can be strong on a modest salary.
Yes. Germany has a structural labour shortage across nursing, engineering, IT, trades, and education. The government publishes quarterly Engpassberufe (shortage occupations) lists. Our placement team works with vetted employers who actively hire international talent on Chancenkarte permits. Average placement takes 4–9 months from visa approval.
Germany is known for structured work cultures with strong boundaries: typical hours are 8am–5pm, working weekends is rare, and vacation is 20–30 days annually by law. Hierarchies are flatter than in many countries, direct feedback is the norm, and overtime is compensated. Work-life balance is taken seriously by employers.
Yes. After 33 months of continuous legal residence, or 21 months if you achieve B1 German proficiency, you become eligible for the Niederlassungserlaubnis (permanent settlement permit). After 8 years of legal residence, you can apply for German citizenship. This is a credible path to permanent settlement — not a temporary visa.
Yes. Our relocation concierge handles housing search with Schufa workarounds, Anmeldung (local registration), health insurance enrolment, tax ID, bank account setup, and family services including school enrolment and spouse work permits. We do not leave you at the airport — we handle the logistical nightmare so you can focus on your new job.
